CENTER.

We center Indigenous languages and cultures in the education of our children, recognizing that our worldview and Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) are embedded in our languages. We remember that our IKS hold the knowledge for the revival of our food systems, kinship, governance, relationship with the land, and so much more.

DISRUPT.

In mainstream, settler colonial American education, parents raise children at home and teachers educate them at school. We disrupt this false paradigm. We acknowledge the strength and assets of our Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities by calling attention to the critical, communal responsibilities that our extended families and communities contribute. We assert the rightful place that our extended families, communities and generations have in helping us collectively raise our children.

ACTIVATE

We activate community for current and future Indigenous Educators and serve as a place for belonging, support, celebration, talking about what’s hard and what’s good.

UNLEARN.

We partner with institutions and organizations who support Indigenous Educators, with a focus on those whose work involves Indigenous education in an anti-racist way.  Together, we work in solidarity to help Indigenous children realize their whole selves, advancing a culturally-sustaining narrative for Indigenous education.
